2003_dc_secondary_prevention_coalitionr

The Best Practices Coalition organizes over 387 advocates, youthworkers and direct service providers to make research-based best practices the foundation of all youth work in DC. Members meet regularly to discuss new trends and applications of best practices in their fields.

Within the Coalition are groups with special interests, such as the role of boys and men in teen pregnancy prevention and preventing subsequent pregnancies among pregnant and parenting teens.

Best Practices Coalition
On Friday, January 25, 2008 the Best Practices Coalition meeting centered on “What’s Love Got to Do With It? – Promoting Healthy Relationships Among Teens with Gender Neutral Approaches.” The meeting brought together distinguished panelists to widen the lens about helping teens define who they are and establish healthy relationships.

Best Practices Coalition

condomsj.jpg On April 26, 2007, DC Campaign hosted a Best Practices Coalition Meeting on condom distribution in Washington DC. The meeting was a fantastic opportunity for members of the youth-serving community in DC to connect and participate with the DC HIV/AIDS Administration's (HAA) goal of distributing one million condoms in the District.

Nestor Rocha, Interim Deputy Bureau Chief for Prevention at HAA, gave an overview of the city's plan to distribute one million condoms this year.
