The roundtable was held in partnership with Children's National Medical Center and the DC Department of Health , Maternal and Primary Care Administration, and held July 18, 2007 at the Kaiser Family Foundation Barbara Jordan Conference Center at 1330 G Street NW, Washington, DC, from 9 to 11 a.m.

May 2006: At Promise, Not at Risk Print E-mail

teen_panel “It is better to be kind than to be right,” said Dr. Michael Carrera as he so passionately described his work with teens before a packed audience of advocates, funders and program directors. Dr. Carrera, director of the Children’s Aid Society’s Stern National Adolescent Sexuality Training Center, was the keynote speaker for DC Campaign’s May 10, 2006 roundtable, At Promise, Not At Risk: Youth Development in America’s Home Town that was attended by over 120 people.

April 2005: Working Together: Faith-Based and Secular Collaboration Print E-mail

P14.jpgThe Working Together: Faith-Based and Secular Collaboration to Prevent Teen Pregnancy roundtable on April 29, 2005 brought together 57 persons from local and federal government, and faith-based and secular non-profits, including religious institutions. Participants discussed their experiences and passions for youth development and teen pregnancy prevention work and the importance of all segments of the community working together to help teens.

Healing the Hurt roundtable raised questions as a way to bridge the knowledge gap between the apparently random acts of violence seen in Washington, DC, the behavior of teens directly and indirectly affected by grief and loss and the persistently high teen pregnancy rate.
