Testimony given by Stacy Price
DC campaign is firmly grounded in youth development principles that delineate the supports all young people need to make the transition from adolescence to being healthy, prepared adults. This includes close, caring relationships with trustworthy adults; safe places to spend time with friends; opportunities to develop skills and competencies that build confidence; successful school experiences that lead to higher education or gainful employment; guidance that gives young people a sense of belonging to their communities, schools, teachers and fellow students; and a plan for the future.

However achieving this school success from an early age requires “highly qualified,” teachers.
