For far too long, young people in Washington have had to make do with far less than they deserve. Over the last few years the concentration of families living in poverty in Washington, DC has increased, with more than half the children living below the poverty line. A large proportion of the children trapped in this cycle poverty live in families begun by teens. High school graduation eludes nearly half of the kids who start school and teen pregnacy remains in the double digits. For the individuals, organizations and business that do the work that is DC Campaign, these circumstances are unacceptable.
Read Brenda Rhodes Miller’s comments on “Maternal Truths: How much about your teenage transgressions should you tell your kids? ” in the Washington Post Magazine article by Liza Mundy.
